Ansel Adams was born February 20 1902 and died April 22 1984.Adam was an only child, born when his mother was 40 years old. As a child he was thrown to the ground by an earthquake after shock and badly broke his nose, Later on it became one of his well know features. He went to school for a time and wasn't able to fit in, so his aunt and father tutored him at home until the sent him to private school. At the age of 12 he took up piano and that become what would likely be his primary profession until he moved to photography, yet he ended up being the head,or "keeper" of the Sierra Club. Adam created Monolith, Face Of Half Dome, in 1927. I chose the picture above because of the definition of the waves. The way it moves from the white foam of the water to the dark depths of the water makes it easier to determine how deep this photo actually goes.
